The College of Arts and Sciences under the deanship of Dr. Mario M. Abesamis, Jr. thru the Social and Behavioral Sciences headed by Dr. Maria Cristina Ferrer, in collaboration with the CAS Guidance Office supervised by Dr. Clarinda Reyes with the assistance of Mrs. Annabelle Joy Lazaro and Mr. Richard Arambulo, conducted two relevant webinars considered local and international. For clear understanding of the activities, the Dean of the CAS, Dr. Mario M. Abesamis, Jr, explicated the statement of purpose. The moderators of the webinars were Ms. Agna S. De Guzman (for local) and Ms. Princess Leen Idava (for international).The international webinar became possible through the Office of International and Domestic Institutional Linkages headed by Atty. Eric G. Claudio and with the support of the University President, Dr. Feliciana P. Jacoba.
The two webinars conducted are as follows:
A. Local Webinar on Mental Health and Well-Being: Minding Self Care in the Midst of Uncertainties (October 25, 2021, 9:00am)
This webinar focused on the individual’s mental health and well-being. The invited guest speaker, Dr. Elaine G. Reyes, emphasized how to maintain personal wellness and good mental health; how to maintain a proactive self-reflection; the different strategies on how to cope with stress and anxiety; self-acceptance that anxiety and fear are normal; finding a balanced life or having enough time for school, work, family, and community; and bringing an intentional mindset to unplugging.
